Perhaps most importantly they possess a sense of humour. All our carers relate well with children and are committed to meeting a child’s needs. Some qualities we look for in potential Foster Carers: You understand that foster children will become part of your family, but will also have birth family and connections of their own. You want to foster because you know that you can make a difference in the life of a child. You are prepared for the challenges and rewards that come with caring for a child. You have a strong network of family and friends who will help with the pressures of fostering. You are a permanent resident of Australia. you can pass a Working With Children clearance.
