Planet Youth Program

By working to address the risk and protective factors that predict adolescent substance use we aim to help in preventing the problem before it arises. The approach taken draws on four preventative main categories of parenting, peer group, general well-being and sports and recreation.

Some approaches are through the Local Drug Action Team, schools, social media and events

The Haven - Port Pirie

The Haven is a free and confidential service providing information and referrals to women in Port Pirie. The Haven is located at the Port Pirie Community Centre 28 Symonds Street, Risdon Park. This service is funded by the Women's Information Service

Service to Aboriginal Youth (STAY)

The Service to Aboriginal Youth (STAY) program assists young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people between the ages 10 and 19 access services and find the guidance they need to achieve their goals and strengthen their cultural and community connections
Mental Health Support

Uniting Country SA's Mental Health Support assists people and communities in regional South Australia living with depression, anxiety and more.
Strengthening Separated Families

Uniting Country SA's Strengthening Separated Families (SSF) program provides support to individuals and families with children and adolescents to navigate their way through various separation circumstances. Support is available through individual case management, counselling and group work to help people focus on the needs of their children during this time and manage separation in a healthy way.
Community FoodHub

Uniting Country SA's Community FoodHub provides community members with access to low cost nutritious food in a bid to improve food security in the region. This service is only available in Port Pirie

Port Augusta and Port Pirie Homelessness Youth Service

Uniting County SA's Port Augusta and Amity Youth Homelessness Service provide a safe, secure environment for young people who are homeless as a result of a crisis.
Homelessness Services

The Yorke and Mid North and Coober Pedy Generic Homelessness Services provides support and housing / accommodation options for homeless people and those at risk of homelessness in regional South Australia. Families, single adults, youth and couples can access support from the service
Reconnect

Uniting Country SA's Reconnect program provides an early intervention service to youth at risk of, or experiencing homelessness and their families. The Reconnect program provides support and intervention to the target group to improve linkages with family, employment, education, training and the community.
